Forensic Firearms Investigators and others involved in firearm related investigations are faced with attempting to identify the manufacturer of live and fired cartridges. Just as importantly these people will also be asked when a cartridge was manufactured and what its original loading was.  All of this information is easily determined when using the software application 'Cartwin Pro' as designed by Marinus Knap.  With more than 10,000 cartridges in existence within the database and 3 monthly emailed updates, you will soon come to appreciate the true potential of how the software comes into its own and clearly sets the standard in cartridge identification internationally.

Workshop participants will be introduced to the system and will be provided with guidance on how to get the very best from it using real examples as they navigate through the system to identify examples of cartridges they may encounter as part of their duties.  The system is 'Windows' based and participants will undertake practical exercises in when navigating the system. (Participants who work for labs that buy a software license within 3 months of the ANZFSS 2008 Symposium will receive discount on their software. )

The workshop is 3 hours long - course participants completing the workshops practical exercises will be issued with a certificate.
