National and state parks in Yarra Valley, Dandenongs and The Ranges

The Yarra Valley, Dandenongs and the Ranges region is home to some of Victoria’s most impressive tall forests. Once logged to make masts for ships, the area is now a haven for lyrebirds, and a great place to walk, cycle, picnic or sit and relax.

Follow the many walks and trails through stands of towering 100 metre high mountain ash, undulating seas of tree ferns, across clear gushing streams and past thundering waterfalls. And for those not keen to leave the comfort of their car, some of the best scenery is accessible by road too.

Ballooning in Yarra Valley, Dandenongs and The Ranges

There’s no better way to see the Yarra Valley than drifting silently above it in a hot air balloon. Stable weather and breathtaking scenery make the Yarra Valley the perfect location to experience the wonders of ballooning all year round.

Balloon flights depart just after dawn for a sunrise float over a panorama of forests, farms, and corridors of vines before setting you down for a breakfast of sparkling wine and local produce at a local winery.

Phillip Island

Phillip Island

Drive 90 minutes from Melbourne and you’ll find yourself standing nose to nose with koalas, sharing a beach with hungry pelicans, watching a colony of fur seals splashing in the sun, and of course, walking with our famous penguins. And the best part is, at Phillip Island, nature’s happy to get close to you.

Phillip Island is a great destination for getting in or near the ocean. Take a dip at a safe swimming beach or surf ocean beaches, launch a boat, cast a fishing line, or walk along boardwalks and cliff tops with great outlooks over the magnificent coastlines.

Head to Phillip Island to see Australian wildlife in its natural habitat. It is home to a colony of little penguins that make their way from the sea to their burrows every day at dusk, Australia’s largest colony of fur seals, koalas and a large population of mutton birds and migratory waterbirds.

Or for high-octane excitement and to find out about Phillip Island’s motor racing history visit the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit Visitor Centre.

And so much more...
