Introducing
the 19th International Symposium
on the Forensic Sciences

It is with great pleasure that members of the Victorian Branch of the Australian and New Zealand Forensic Science Society (ANZFSS) announce the 19th International Symposium on the Forensic Sciences. This multi-disciplinary meeting will be held from Monday 6th to Thursday 9th October, 2008 at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Building on a strong history of successful ANZFSS symposia, this meeting's theme 'Domestic Crime to International Terror: Forensic Science Perspectives' reflects the great diversity of crimes requiring forensic practitioner expertise. Research and case-based studies will be presented by national and international experts drawn from over 25 forensic disciplines. In addition, specialist workshops and master-classes are in the planning stages and will run before, during and after the symposium. This event promises to attract over 600 practitioners from around the globe.

The organising committee plans to present not only a valuable professional and educational experience for practitioners, but an unforgettable social program drawing on the facilities of the culturally rich and picturesque city of Melbourne. We look forward to seeing you in 2008.
